Gathering Volumes is pleased to welcome Kelly & Zach Weinersmith to the store for a special reading and discussion of their book "Soonish" Friday, November 24 at 10 am!
About the Book: From a top scientist and the creator of the hugely popular web comic Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, a hilariously illustrated investigation into future technologies -- from how to fling a ship into deep space on the cheap to 3D organ printing
In this smart and funny book, celebrated cartoonist Zach Weinersmith and noted researcher Dr. Kelly Weinersmith give us a snapshot of what's coming next -- from robot swarms to nuclear fusion powered-toasters. By weaving their own research, interviews with the scientists who are making these advances happen, and Zach's trademark comics, the Weinersmiths investigate why these technologies are needed, how they would work, and what is standing in their way.
"Soonish" investigates ten different emerging fields, from programmable matter to augmented reality, from space elevators to robotic construction, to show us the amazing world we will have, you know, soonish.
Join us on November 24 at 10 am to meet Kelly & Zach Weinersmith and get your copy of "Soonish" signed!

If your sigh of relief is a sigh of concern after mid-terms and conferences Tutor Doctor can help! My tutors will come into your home and work with your student in the subject(s) they are struggling in on days and times that are convenient with you. My tutors use the current curriculum your student is using in the classroom in helping them better understand the subject matter. How about homework? Is your student frequently turning homework in late or not at all? We can help in this area also through our X-skills program.
