Holiday, Clothing and Utility Assistance Available

Dear Families,


As we move into the winter season, we would like to share the following resources that are available in case you or any of your loved ones may need a little extra help.


Holiday Assistance

  • Salvation Army

Taking applications until November 19, 2020 for Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Baskets. Apply in person at the Bowling Green Salvation Army Office at 1045 N.   • Thayer Christmas Dreams

Thayer Christmas Dreams helps families in need of toys or clothing for their children up to the age of 17. They must live in Wood County. Families call in with a description of the gifts that they need for their children. Thayer and Salvation Army compare applicants, therefore families cannot receive services from both organizations. Please contact Rachael London at 419-353-5751 to apply.


  • Toys-for-Tots

Toys-for-Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Each year they distribute thousands of toys to children whose parents/guardians cannot afford to buy holiday gifts. To apply for toys, please follow this link: perrysburg-oh.toysfortots.org.


  • Angel Tree through St. Rose

Please fill out an Angel Tree wish list and return it to the St. Rose Parish Office by Friday, November 6, 2020.

Winter Clothing

  • St. Timothy's Episcopal Church

Free clothes on Fridays 9:30-11:30 a.m. at 871 E. Boundary St. Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-5704)


  • Deacons' Shop First Presbyterian Church

Free clothes on every other Thursday (November 5, November 19) from 9:30 - 11 a.m. at 126 S. Church St. Bowling Green, Ohio 43465 (Use Front Courtyard Entrance) 419-352-5176


  • Old Newsboys Goodfellow Association


“No child should miss school for the lack of shoes or coat.”

If you and your child(ren) are in need of some clothing items to keep you warm this winter, please contact your child’s school counselor for a coat and/or shoe voucher!

This begins the second week of November.



Utilities Assistance

  • HEAP (Winter Crisis Program)

The Home Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program (HEAP) helps income-eligible Ohioans who are threatened with disconnection, have been disconnected or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel in their tank to maintain their utility service.   • PIPP (Year-Round Energy Bill Assistance)

The Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) helps eligible Ohioans manage their energy bills year-round. Payments are based on a percentage of household income and are consistent year-round. Please follow this link for more information: https://development.ohio.gov/is/is_pipp.htm
